The Ohio Laborers District Council capped off two years of renovations by hosting an open house at the Drexel J. Thrash Training Center for members, apprentices, elected officials and the community on Sept. 18, 2018.

The event was attended by Ralph Cole, Business Manager and Secretary Treasurer of the Ohio Laborers District Council and Vice President at Large for the Laborers’ International Union of North American; Robert Chatterson, Executive Director of the Ohio Laborers’ Training Center (above); State Representative Rick Carfagna (above); and leaders and members from LiUNA, the District Council, and ACT Ohio.

The Drexel J. Thrash Training Center, which sits on 119 wooded acres in Howard, Ohio, is among the premiere craft-laborer training centers in the nation.

Craft laborers and apprentices from across the state conduct hands-on training at the 66,215 square-foot training facility, perfecting their skills on everything from pipeline welding to construction-site safety.
