The Northwest Ohio Building and Construction Trades Council launched the first phase of an aggressive nationwide recruitment campaign.

Visitors to can learn why Northwest Ohio offers traveling skilled construction workers both a great place to live and work.

Labor unions within the region are well-represented, but they lack the considerable manpower these projects will require to be completed. Due to this fact, workers in the following construction trades are in high demand:

  • Plumbers
  • Boilermakers
  • Pipefitters
  • Electrical Workers
  • Ironworkers
  • Insulators
  • Carpenters
  • Operating Engineers

The current website offers an online form, where properly skilled individuals can sign up to be contacted by a representative from their designated trade. The online form is not meant to circumvent Referral Hall procedures. Agent-to-agent or referrals will still be required go through all Hiring Hall practices.

A handful of major projects in Northwest Ohio will begin in 2016 and include work at a large refinery, a new clean energy plant, a nuclear energy facility and a major downtown renovation for one of Toledo’s largest employers.

All members of our affiliated construction trades are encouraged to pass along this link to any tradesmen or tradeswomen who may be interested in traveling for work next year.

Content on the new website will be replaced later this year with a more dynamic, comprehensive website.
