2026 Statewide Counselor Training Schedule

The State of Ohio’s 2026 “Construction Careers and Apprenticeship” CEU training class schedule is now open for registration by licensed school counselors, grades 7-12. Register for a training nearest your district on ACT Ohio’s EventBrite page: https://www.eventbrite.com/organizations/events

*ACT Ohio schedules new sessions in different regions of the state on an ongoing basis according to regional counselor license-expiration demand. Check the ACT Ohio Eventbrite page for updates throughout the calendar year as new sessions are added. 

*Winter Weather: At 6:30am the day of a class: If there is a Level 1, 2, or 3 snow emergency in the county/surrounding counties where a class takes place, the training will be cancelled and rescheduled.

* Training sessions with fewer than 15 counselors registered will be cancelled; registrants will be given priority for seats in other training sessions if a session is cancelled.

This counselor training program was developed by Affiliated Construction Trades Ohio Foundation (ACT Ohio) and TradesFutures in cooperation with the Ohio State Board of Education, the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, and the Ohio School Counselor Association. School counselors currently working with Ohio students in grades 7-12 whose school counselor license expires on June 30, 2026 or after must complete 4-hours of construction trades apprenticeship training at an approved JATC Apprenticeship Training Center. There is no cost to counselors to attend this training.

What Comes After Registration/Scheduling?
1. Counselors receive an EventBrite auto-generated email confirming the date, time, and location of their training session.

2. Counselors attend the in-person Construction Trades training at a joint-labor-management (JATC) apprenticeship training center.

3. After counselors have attended an ACT Ohio training in-person at a JATC, a certificate of completion will be emailed to your registration email address. Counselors will provide this completion certificate to their Local Professional Development Committees (LPDCs) for license renewal credit.
